Encryption Readiness Checklist

Use this checklist to evaluate how well your organization protects data in transit. Review each question below and identify gaps in your encryption coverage.

✅ General Practices

• Are emails containing sensitive data encrypted end-to-end?
• Are employees trained on avoiding unsecured networks?
• Do remote users access the network using VPNs?

✅ Cloud and File Sharing

• Are file transfers encrypted using HTTPS or SFTP?
• Do cloud storage platforms support encryption at rest and in transit?
• Are access controls applied to shared links?

✅ Device and App Usage

• Are mobile apps used for business communications encrypted (e.g., Signal)?
• Is messaging monitored for business-critical exchanges?
• Are VoIP or video conferencing solutions encrypted end-to-end?

✅ Infrastructure

• Is your business website using a valid SSL/TLS certificate?
• Are internal services secured using TLS or VPN tunnels?
• Are legacy systems or file shares still in use without encryption?
