Digital Clean-Up Checklist

Use this checklist to ensure your IT environment is clean, secure, and ready for the year ahead.

✔ Account and Access Review

• Deactivate or remove inactive accounts
• Review permissions for active users
• Remove legacy VPN or RDP configurations

✔ Software and Licensing

• Identify and uninstall unused applications
• Check for duplicate or expired licenses
• Audit software against compliance requirements

✔ Backups and Recovery

• Run full backups of critical systems
• Test recovery process from at least one backup
• Ensure offsite/cloud backups are working

✔ Patch and Updates

• Patch operating systems and third-party apps
• Update firmware on firewalls, routers, switches
• Verify automatic update settings

• Clear out temp files and duplicate documents
